Jack represents insurance companies and their clients in defense of personal injury and wrongful death claims. He has an active litigation practice in the trial and appellate courts and in private arbitration. With extensive expertise in many areas of insurance defense law, Jack regularly advises corporate and institutional clients in need of insurance law representation.
Mediation and Arbitration
Jack is a skilled negotiator, arbitrator and mediator. Serving as a neutral professional, he regularly assists litigants and their attorneys in successfully resolving many types of disputes through mediation and arbitration.
Professional Expertise
Jack has more than 35 years of professional legal experience. He joined Duggan, Schlotfeldt & Welch as a partner in 2004, specializing in insurance defense, arbitration and mediation. Prior to 2004, he was in private practice for 25 years at Landerholm, Memovich, Lansverk & Whitesides in Vancouver, Washington. There he developed his expertise in personal injury practice (plaintiff and defense), and arbitration and mediation practice. Earlier in his career he was the Director of Legal Defender Services for Clark County, Washington, where he served as local public defender from 1977-1979 and staff attorney from 1974-1977.

Jack is a member of the Washington State Bar Association, Clark County Bar Association, Washington State Trial Lawyers Association and Washington Defense Trial Lawyers Association. He has been a fellow in the prestigious American College of Trial Lawyers since 2004.
Professional Qualifications/Education
Admitted 1971 and practiced criminal law before Circuit Courts, Appellate Court and Supreme Court of Illinois, U.S. District Court for Northern District of Illinois and Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals, 1971-1974. Admitted and practiced criminal and civil law before Superior Courts, Court of Appeals, and Supreme Court of Washington, 1974-present. Admitted to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court, the U.S. District Courts for Oregon and Western District of Washington, and the state courts of Oregon.
